Private Krakow City Tour
Krakow is one of the oldest cities in Poland and former capital of the country. Since 8th century it has been an important stronghold by the Vistula River and Wawel Hill with the Castle became the seat of Polish Kings in medieval times. Today the entire Old Town of Krakow is a World Cultural Heritage Site of UNESCO. Although nearly 800 000 people live in the city today, its Old Town area is pretty small and can be easily seen on foot. That is why we offer many different options for guided sightseeing of Krakow.
1) Old Town Walk
If you stay in one of the hotels within the Old Town or very near the centre, our guide can meet you there at chosen time and you will be able to see all the highlights during 3 hours walk. We will walk by Slowacki Theater, Barbikan and along Florianska Street (most fancy street of Krakow) to Main Market Square (one of the biggest in Europe). On Main Market we will pay attention to St Mary’s Church, Cloth Hall and Mickiewicz’s Monument. Later we will continue along so-called Royal Route of Grodzka Street, Kanonicza Street until we reach Wawel Hill and Castle. We will also see Collegium Novum and Collegium Maius – most important parts of one of the oldest universities in Europe – Jagiellonian University.
2) Kazimierz Jewish District Walk
During this tour you will see all highlights of best preserved Jewish Quarter in Europe – Kazimierz which used to be a separate town until the end of 18th century. You will feel unique atmosphere of this place while strolling down narrow streets of Kazimierz. On our way will be Old Synagogue, Remuh Synagogue, Szeroka Street, Jewish Cemetery, New Square, Wolnica Square and many other sites. This walking tour may last up to 2,5 hours.
3) Panoramic Tour of Krakow
We have a special proposal for the city tour for those who want to see more than just historical Old Town and Jewish Quarter. We would start with visiting Kosciuszko’s Mound which offers fantastic view over the city – we will walk around its panoramic terrace. On the way from the centre we will drive along Blonia – meadows located very close to the historical centre which is an unusual thing. We will also drive through Podgorze District on the other side of Vistula river. We will stop by the fragments of Jewish Ghetto walls on Lwowska Street. Whole tour lasts up to 3 hours.
Of course all those versions can be mixed with each other and we can always adjust program to your needs. You can write to us and tell us which sites are most important for you and we will calcute how much time you will need to see chosen places and what price we can offer you. We can also include guided visits in some of the famous museums of Krakow like for example Wawel Castle, Oskar Schindler’s Factory, Galicia Jewish Museum and many others.
For groups of up to 8 persons we offer price of 350 PLN total per private guide service up to 3 hours. In case of Panoramic Tour of Krakow there will be an extra charge for use of private car/mini-van or bus depending on size of the group – please contact us for more details.
